The word has been out for some time. The rumor mill is malting barley; the grapevine has been pressed – Bed-Vyne is one of Brooklyn’s coolest home-grown watering holes. A friend once said the pub looks like the backdrop of Janet Jackson’s 1997 Got Til It‘s Gone video; and as takebacks would go, the entire outfit is hand-built with reclaimed wood. But fast forward to 2015 and you pretty much get the same sensory tingling (like that refreshing first sip of Riesling) with handcrafted flooring, cabinetry and lighting. This low-key neighborhood fixture offers craft beer at Bed-Vyne Brew, a selection of wines for take-out or delivery (and free wine tastings on Mondays and Fridays) at Bed-Vyne Wine and more outdoor lounging at Bed-Vyne Cocktail. As if that trifecta of libations wasn’t enough, Bed-Vyne sees itself as a hub fusing artists from all over the world, rotating artwork every month, casting pods from local musicians and offering food pairings with personal chefs. And if that wasn’t clutch enough, the charitable owners of Bed-Vyne “strive to be active” in the community by opening up their change-purses and making generous donations to local nonprofit and educational groups whenever possible. So yes, the word is out, and sources such as EbonyBlack Enterprise and many others are talking. Joni Mitchell never lied, so go find out if what they say is true.
